Firearms & PAL FAQ

Yes. You must hold a valid Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) to buy a non-restricted firearm, and a Restricted PAL (RPAL) for restricted firearms such as most handguns. We verify your licence directly with the RCMP Canadian Firearms Program before any firearm ships.

During checkout you provide your licence number, name, and date of birth. We confirm the licence is valid and in good standing with the RCMP before the order is released. Firearms are never shipped against an expired, suspended, or unverifiable licence.

Yes. In Canada a valid firearms licence (PAL or RPAL) is required to purchase ammunition. Your licence is verified before any ammunition order is released for shipping.

You must be at least 18 to hold a standard PAL and purchase firearms or ammunition. Individuals 12–17 may hold a Minor's Licence for limited purposes, but online firearm and ammunition sales are restricted to licensed adults 18+.

Yes. Getting licensed starts with the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC), and the Restricted course (CRFSC) for an RPAL. We run both with certified instructors — see PAL / CFSC Training in the catalog.

Restricted firearms (most handguns and certain long guns) require a valid RPAL and an RCMP-authorized transfer. After purchase we initiate the transfer with the Canadian Firearms Program; the firearm ships only once the transfer is approved. This step is required by law and cannot be skipped.

Transfer approval times vary with RCMP processing. It typically takes several business days. We keep you updated and ship as soon as authorization is granted.

Authorization to Transport for most routine purposes is now conditions of the RPAL for many transports, but specific situations still require authorization. You are responsible for transporting in accordance with current federal and provincial requirements.

We ship Canada-wide from Ontario, subject to federal, provincial, and municipal restrictions. Some products or destinations may be limited by local law. Firearms and ammunition are not shipped outside Canada.

Non-restricted firearms ship by a carrier meeting the Firearms Act transport and storage requirements, with tracking. Restricted firearms ship only after transfer approval. You'll receive tracking once your order is dispatched.

In-stock non-restricted orders are typically processed within 1–2 business days after licence verification. Delivery time depends on your location. Restricted firearms ship after RCMP transfer approval, so timelines are longer.

The licensed purchaser must take delivery. Depending on the carrier and product, an adult signature and licence check may be required at delivery.

We stock common rimfire, centerfire, and shotshell calibres. Availability changes with supply — check the Ammunition category for current stock.

Order quantities may be limited by stock, carrier rules, and provincial or municipal regulations. Any applicable limits are shown at checkout.

Ammunition and firearms are packaged and shipped in accordance with carrier and Firearms Act requirements, which may mean separate packages. Your full order is tracked either way.

We offer the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) for the non-restricted PAL, and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) for the RPAL, taught by certified instructors.

The course is the mandatory safety-training step. After passing the written and practical tests, you apply to the RCMP for your PAL/RPAL. We walk you through the application process.

Firearms and ammunition have limited return eligibility for legal and safety reasons. Unfired, unmodified items in original packaging may be eligible within our stated window; ammunition is generally non-returnable once shipped.
